The Darksiders site gets an early update this week with the latest trailer up and another Gear Item, the Earthcaller. Blowing into this instrument calls upon one of The Old Ones. Is it a... building? Beast? What the...

"The Tormented Gates are massive creatures that have been enslaved by the Destroyer. Their huge stone arms can fold into a massive rock wall, a trait the Destroyer has used to turn these gentle beasts into towering barricades. I have heard of a horn that can awaken these gates, but that relic has fallen into evil hands that will not party with it lightly."

Darksiders is "Slashtacular"

You'll learn a lot of new things while reading IGN AU's preview of Darksiders. They've coined the terms "slashtacular" and "gunishment," as well as explained some of the game's control scheme. Go on and read Darksiders: The Definition of Bad-Ass.
